KAL500 Cooling System

The KAL500 is equipped with three custom manufactured aluminium coolers for the engine, hydraulics and compressor. Each cooling circuit has a dedicated pump feeding Rexroth Hydraulic fan motors and all three are thermatically controlled to enhance the cooling effectiveness, thereby reducing engine loading and lowering fuel consumption.

Airflow for each cooler is drawn from the outside of the rig, through the cooler, and is then diverted via a specially designed deflection screen that re-directs the warmer air stream up and over the engine bay. This system has shown to be highly efficient at reducing heat loading on the chassis componentry by assisting the natural thermal convection.

The light weight and smaller designed coolers also provide easier access to the rig for servicing and reduce the overall weight of the rig.
