GT3000 Drilling Rig specifications:

Powerplant

The GT3000 is powered by a highly efficient MTU Series 60 554 HP inline 6 cylinder engine that offers:
  • High performance with fuel efficiency.
  • Outstanding reliability with an anticipated service life of 12,000hrs between overhaul.

As a preferred supplier for Globe Drill rigs, MTU has consistently provided an excellent power-plant, along with outstanding back-up service.

Hydraulics

Hydraulics are driven through a Durst 3PD10 Tri-drive gearbox, oversized for longer life, performance and durability.
The Durst tri-drive gearbox greatly enhances the distribution of the engine’s torque compared to traditional more linear systems. A compact footprint is achieved with ease of serviceability enhanced by design.

The Rexroth open loop hydraulic pumps feed through a filtration and cooling system designed to maintain a higher level of oil condition to improve component life. Each model is fitted with a 1200 litre oil tank to ensure the oil maintains optimum operational temperature without thermal loading of the lubrication.

Cooling Systems

Aluminium cooling systems provide higher levels of cooling with smaller surface areas which reduces the size of the cooling systems.
More importantly, fan sizes are smaller than they need to be with steel coolers and therefore require much lower energy levels to operate.

As efficiency is a priority, specially mounted aluminium coolers are used on all of the Globe Drill rigs to provide higher cooling capacities.
The light weight and smaller designed coolers also provide easier access to the rig for servicing and reduce the overall weight of the drill rig.
